Pop culture analysis that’s both smart & fun
Exactly what the title of this review says. I came for the deep dives into K-drama and stayed for everything else. The Tamora Pierce episode is /everything/ if those were your foundational fantasy texts (as they were for me). 10/10 would recommend!

Fun and Thoughtful
Corinne and Ayanni are not only gifted scholars in their pop culture fields, but also SO fun to listen to. They explain shows and deep theoretical concepts in the same digestible ways, bringing an added depth to great conversations about our favorite trash (and not-so-trash) media. Nobody else gets this mix to have quite so much fun flavor as these two!

Excellent Analysis and Engaging Personalities!!
I love these two and their both deep and accessible analyses on a WIDE VARIETY of media. While they break down the many different aspects of each of these shows and how and what their relationships say about the core themes of the show they never go too deep to lose the audience. It’s so lovely and their fun and inclusive personalities are infectious! Definitely a must listen to! Please try them out!

Love for the Show
Sex. Love. Literature. adds another layer of pop culture appreciation by adding fun and interesting dialogue in analyzing shows specifically with focus on sex and romance. Ayanni and Corinne are engaging and share a great rapport as cohosts and friends. Any consumer of entertainment should add this show to their podcast rotation. Give them a listen and subscribe now!

Smart, Fun, Insightful
Exactly what I want in a pop culture podcast. English PhD candidates Ayanni and Corrine are producing a great podcast here! I love that there is a little scholarly insight mixed in with the sexy and silly. I appreciate their female gaze and analysis and it’s just a low-key happy regular listen with solid sound quality.
